Golf Tips

Sometimes a small change in your GRIP, STANCE or AIM can make an extreme change in the outcome of your ball flight.

Play a better game on Sedona’s beautiful Arizona golf course with these helpful tips:

Things to Remember:
  • STANCE: Your spine should be straight at a 35 degree angle. A good way to make sure of a correct spine angle is to take the head of the club and place it on your tail bone and hold the grip against your head. Then bend at the waist. The club should stay against your spine and your head. Keep your head up and don't roll your shoulders in. A good posture helps you swing freely through the zone.
  • GRIP: "The V's" -- Your thumb and index finger make the letter V when your grip the club. Make sure the V's are pointing in the same direction. You should be able to draw a line from the tip of the V to somewhere between your chin and your right arm pit (right handed players). Grip pressure should feel like you have a tube of toothpaste in your hand and you don't want to squeeze the end out.
  • AIM: Always walk up to your ball from behind it. Your depth perception is a little different when you're standing to the side looking at the target. Pick a spot about a foot in front of you ball between the ball and your target. Aim your club with the ball and that shorter target. Keep your feet, hips and shoulders parallel to that small line.

Confidence is the key!!!
